In case you've been living under a rock, this week was big for GTA 6. Rockstar's upcoming epic was delayed to 2026 last week, but the studio did give us a long-awaited second trailer at long last.
We've already been digging through for details, and while fans have spotted what they think is a fun nod and a wink to the first trailer leaking, another eagle-eyed account has seemingly connected GTA 6 to Red Dead Redemption's universe, suggesting some of Rockstar's games do take place in the same universe.
Here's all we know about what to look out for, and what it could mean.
As spotted by Synth Potato over on X (formerly Twitter), the currency in the GTA 6 trailer has the faces of the US Presidents from the Red Dead Redemption games on it, notably Leviticus Cornwall.
Fans have long speculated that both of Rockstar's crime-laden universes were tied together, but this is perhaps the closest we've had to an admission from Rockstar.
In Red Dead Redemption, for example, we hear stories about New York and California, but those locations are Liberty City and Los Santos in GTA canon, but there have been a series of other crossovers between the two series.
References to Dutch van der Linde, a key character in both Red Dead Redemption games, can be found in GTA Online, as well as some familiar-looking weapons.
There's even a book called Red Dead, written by 'J Marston' on a bookshelf in GTA 5, but it was always thought that Rockstar was keeping its two worlds from colliding in any meaningful way.
While we're not convinced we'll be seeing a great deal of crossover in GTA 6 outside of the faces on our dollar bills, we are curious to see if Rockstar ends up drawing its other universes into GTA 6's world.
The studio was also behind the very violent Manhunt, which has been hinted as being in the same universe as GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andeas, while its controversial school-based adventure Bully could also tie in somehow.
We'll take a Midnight Club tie-in any day, but you can leave the Table Tennis.
