CoD Warzone players torn on Season 3 delay ahead of Verdansk return

Call of Duty Warzone players are worried about how the battle royale will fare with Season 3 (and Verdansk's return) delayed by Activision here's all we know about it

Call of Duty Warzone fans are feeling a little sad about Season 2 Reloaded being mostly focused on fixing the underlying gameplay, and now the Season 3 update slated to bring back the Verdansk map has been delayed..

With the community still upset about the price of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins, fans are now feeling further hard done by.

While Activision is promising more news on Warzone's fifth anniversary next week, fans are making their voices heard after a delay of a couple of weeks which means Verdansk won't be back until April 3.

Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 delayed

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the official Call of Duty account said "Season 03 is a big moment for Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6, and were taking the time to deliver a great experience starting on April 3."

"Would rather it be delayed than completely broken at launch but still feelsbadman," Modern Warzone, a popular Call of Duty account, posted in reply.

Over on Reddit, players were more skeptical.

"Mustve found a bug that crashes the Store instead of the game," one comment joked, while another suggested that maybe Activision will finally confirm it's stopped the game's cheaters.

"Ooof really hope it's worth it. Might be totally f***ed guys but we'll see."

With Activision taking the Season 2 Reloaded update to focus on improving Warzone's fundamentals and now delaying Season 3 and Verdansk, it could be that the popular Battle Royale comes out the other side of this period as a much more enjoyable experience.

Verdansk was Warzone's first map when it debuted in 2020, and as such it carries a hefty dose of nostalgia for players that dropped in during the global pandemic.
