Overwatch 2 had an uphill struggle to justify its existence following the 'lightning in a bottle' of the first game, and it would be fair to say fans haven't always warmed to the sequel.
Expensive skins and a new seasonal model weren't as welcomed as Blizzard may have hoped, but the biggest shift was the change from 6v6 gameplay to 5v5, with Pro teams and social players alike needing to bench one of their Tanks.
Thankfully, fans can jump into a new Classic mode to relive those 6v6 days, complete with a classic roster and mode selection.
Overwatch's latest throwback event kicks off on November 12 for three weeks, and it starts at 6PM GMT.
That means you can play it in just a few hours from the time of writing, and it'll run until December 2.
The event includes the original roster of heroes, maps like Temple of Anubis, Hanamura, and Volskaya Industries, and is free to all players.
Heroes like Mercy will have their old abilities returned, too, so she'll be able to resurrect an entire team like she could in the first game.
Over on the Overwatch subreddit, players are itching to jump back in, with one saying "this sub is going to be so nostalgic for those three weeks".
"Hanzo storm arrow is about to tweak some newbies out," another added, while one player said "WE ARE SO BACK."
Another joked that players will enjoy the mode for a day before asking what the devs were thinking. Will you be playing the Classic mode? Let us know!
