Pokemon TCG Pocket Space-Time Smackdown release time: When do new cards and trading go live?

Pokemon TCG Pocket is getting another expansion, and this one's the big one since it includes trading as well as Gen 4 critters here's when you can start playing

Pokemon TCG Pocket earned a spot on our biggest games of 2024 list, and for good reason we're still logging in regularly to tear open digital packs.

The franchise has been breaking yet more Guinness World Records and is even getting an Aardman animation crossover, and now Pokemon TCG Pocket is adding the most-requested feature in card trading.

While Mythical Island added a host of Johto-region Pokemon, the latest update, Space-Time Smackdown, will add Gen 4 Pokemon from the Sinnoh Region, including two packs with Dialga and Palkia on the covers.

Great news, UK collectors you can download the update from 6am on Thursday, January 30.

That means you can get cracking packs on the morning commute, with the update landing at the following times:

• 10 PM PST (on January 29)
• 6 AM GMT
• 1 AM EST
• 7 AM CET
• 3 PM JST

As we've already mentioned, a big focus is on trading, which will let players swap cards with friends. We already know some rarities won't be tradeable, but here are the rules:

• Trades can be done between friends.
• Trades can be done with cards of the same rarity.
• At the time of the trade feature's launch, certain cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island booster packs will be able to be traded. We are planning to continue to expand the selection of booster packs that you can trade from.
• Cards with a rarity of 1-4 and Star 1 can be traded.
• Items must be consumed in order to trade.

We're also expecting Sinnoh's most iconic Pokemon to be added, including Lucario, Dialga ex, Palkia ex, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.
