The Steam Spring Sale 2025 marked our most recent big Steam season sale, and while we certainly spent way more than we anticipated, it's hard not to argue our money went further than on any other platform.
That's because Valve's storefront is legendary for its deep discounts that see games go for 95% off at times. Over the years, we've seen unbelievable discounts, and if you own a PC and a Steam Deck OLED, you'll be able to play most of them just about anywhere.
Better yet, if you don't own Valve's handheld, there's a good chance it'll be discounted this week following the recent launch of Nintendo Switch 2 and announcement of a new Xbox handheld.
Here's when the sale starts, and what to expect.
We're just hours away from the newest suite of discounts, with the sale expected to go live at 6 PM BST.
If you want to get playing even quicker, you have two options. You can use the Steam app on your phone to add games to your collection, or you can pop them on your wishlist.
The latter can be done right now, and that means you can be ready to snap up a whole bunch of discounts as soon as the start time arrives.
There are some big savings to be had already, but they're not tied to the Summer Sale.
Titles like EA FC 25, Horizon Forbidden West and a whole host of Far Cry titles are reduced, but we'd advise waiting until 6pm for the full range of savings.
Sadly, Valve hasn't released a teaser trailer just yet highlighting some of the games discounted, but discounts don't tend to vary all that much between seasonal sales.
As a result, expect to see the majority of these titles discounted, potentially with even bigger savings.
Some of 2025's biggest games, like Assassin's Creed Shadows, Monster Hunter Wilds, DOOM: The Dark Ages, or Kingdom Come Deliverance II., could even see discounts.
