Microsoft has gone almost completely multiplatform in recent years, putting Xbox games just about anywhere it can, and it seems to be paying off.
Playing Forza on a PS5 feels weird, but Gears of War: Reloaded on Sonys system is going to feel even weirder.
And yet, while there may be some that suggest Microsoft has given up on the Xbox hardware and its most loyal supporters, its showcase this weekend remains one of the most anticipated of Summer Game Fest for a reason.
Not only does Microsoft have the likes of Halo, Gears, Forza and the rest of its first-party IP, but there are the acquisitions it's made, too. Xboxs event is likely to show off Activision Blizzard and Bethesda properties, meaning we could see Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and maybe, just maybe, more Elder Scrolls.
Expect Xbox Game Pass to be a big focus, too, with Microsoft extolling the virtues of its games coming to the service on both console and PC.
Xbox holds its Developer Direct events early in the year, and almost everything shown from that is out now. DOOM: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, and Expedition 33 are all here, so its just Ninja Gaiden 4 were waiting on, and wed expect to see that.
Last years June showcase was one of the companys best, too. It managed to fit Indiana Jones, Avowed, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, Starfield: Shattered Space and World of Warcraft: The War Within into its runtime, and all of those have launched since.
Third parties also pop up at Microsoft events, including Konamis Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater: Delta and Ubisofts Assassins Creed: Shadows. Last year gave us our first real look at Call of Duty Black Ops 6, too, but this year, Microsoft is focused on The Outer Worlds 2.
Lets start with hardware. We were convinced wed see Xboxs handheld, developed in partnership with ASUS, this month, but recent reports have suggested it wont be shown just yet.
Its also likely too soon to announce the next console generation, and Microsoft hasnt shown it wants to push on with a mid-generation refresh like the PS5 Pro. That could change, of course.
We know The Outer Worlds 2 will get its own Direct event like last years Black Ops 6 one, and thats really exciting for fans of Obsidians first entry.
Microsoft has also suggested it could reveal games for other platforms in its stream this year, which would be wild to see. Are we about to see Halo on PS5 and Switch 2? Who knows.
We reckon well see Gears of War: Reloaded, a remake of the first game in the series that owners of the Gears of War Ultimate Edition will get for free.
Fable has been delayed to 2026, so well hopefully get another look to tide us over until then, maybe with more of a gameplay focus. Weve only seen a CGI trailer of State of Decay 3, too, and reports have suggested it could launch as soon as next year, so now could be a great time to show off the zombie survival game.
Last year we got a look at Perfect Dark, which looked incredible, but theres no release window for it yet. Will we see it again? Its hard to say, especially since Microsoft has so many games weve not seen that much of, like Clockwork Revolution, Gears of War: E-Day, Everwild and Contraband.
Then theres Activision Blizzard, which could show updates for World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Hearthstone and just about anything else, and wed be very surprised not to get a further look at the Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 and 4 remake.
Call of Duty feels like a dead cert to be there, too, and is reportedly a direct sequel to Black Ops II and set in the near future.
As for Bethesda, expect more on Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76. Were naturally hoping to see Elder Scrolls 6, but the recent launch of Oblivion Remastered should help make the wait more bearable.
DOOM: The Dark Ages only just launched, but weve not seen a lot of Marvels Blade from Arkane, the studio behind Dishonored and Deathloop.
Sticking with Blade, wed love a full gameplay reveal. Arkane is known for first-person action, but Blade is in third-person, so we want to see how the studios design principles hold up from a new perspective.
We also love when Xbox drops a bundle of games onto Xbox Game Pass. Could we finally see the rumoured ports for the original Modern Warfare 2 and 3? Sticking with Game Pass, wed be super curious to see if the company would consider rolling a World of Warcraft subscription into its service.
Of course, were always down for more Halo, especially since Infinite has grown into a great multiplayer game, but an Elder Scrolls 6 re-reveal would also get us very excited.
Speaking of things that would excite us, how about Hollow Knight: Silksong? The game will launch onto Xbox Game Pass, so Xboxs event could make for a great place to show it.
We're predicting the above, but what are your predictions? Let us know, and be sure to watch along. The showcase kicks off at 6pm BST on Sunday, June 8.
