A Brit living in Benidorm has shared the good news tourists have been waiting for - as sunshine finally returns after weeks of storms. Harry Poulton, known as @harrytokky on social media, revealed the popular holiday hotspot is basking in warm, spring temperatures once again.
Just weeks ago, the Spanish resort was hit with heavy downpours and cooler conditions, leaving many holidaymakers disappointed. But now, things have taken a turn for the better. With temperatures sitting between 20 and 25 degrees, the resort is back to its usual sunny self as it heads towards the busy summer season.
In a TikTok video, Harry said: "Yes, finally. Brilliant news has arrived - the sun is shining and Benidorm is feeling absolutely glorious.
"Beautiful bright blue skies, really warm temperatures. Its around 25 degrees in Benidorm. There is a little bit of wind but its not that cold, horrible wind. Its that lovely warm breeze that we all love.
"So, if you are coming to Benidorm, youre in for luck. You couldnt ask for much more. Remember you are only two and a half hours away from the United Kingdom."
Tourists were quick to share their excitement in the comments. One user said: "I fly out Saturday, cant wait - hoping it stays the same."
Another added: "We are here now in the glorious sunshine, enjoying a cheeky lunch at Mariano's based on your recommendation."
A third user said: "Im in Benidorm right now. Its lovely."
Others are already counting down their trips, with one writing: "Be there 11 weeks today, then back again in October."
Meanwhile, for those staying in the UK, the Met Office has shared its latest outlook on the weather. Recent days saw some of the warmest temperatures of the year so far, including 26.6 degrees recorded in Kew Gardens, although conditions have since turned cooler and more unsettled.
Despite this, temperatures are expected to rise again, with parts of the country forecast to reach up to 18 degrees in the coming days.
The Met Office has also commented on the potential return of El Nio, a natural climate cycle that can influence global weather patterns.
They explained that while each event varies, stronger El Nio phases can lead to higher global temperatures and more extreme weather conditions worldwide.
For now though, for those heading to Spain, the message is simple - "the sunshine is back".
