Beautiful European town has 1.20 beers, white sand beaches and 25C weather in May

ldeniz, located on the southwest coast of Turkey, boasts bright blue water, a lagoon, rolling green hills and delicious food alongside 33C weather and cheap hotels

Brits looking for a holiday destination that will make them feel like theyre in paradise should consider the gorgeous town of ldeniz, located on the southwest coast of Turkey.

The outstandingly beautiful hotspot is known for its bright blue waters, epic landscapes, beaches and sunny weather. The town reaches average highs of 25C in May climbing to a scorching 33C in August.

However, its not just the weather that makes ldeniz a prime holiday spot. The area is home to The Blue Lagoon the towns most famous attraction. The charming bay boasts crystal-clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

The lagoon is also surrounded by green hills helping holidaymakers feel secluded by the countryside while turquoise water stretches into the distance. The area is also perfect for watersports. Beautiful beaches, such as Belcekz Beach and Kidrak Beach, have glorious powdery, white stretches of sand and offer great spots to try sports like kayaking and paddle boards. Meanwhile, ldeniz is one of the world's most popular destinations for paragliding.

According to Hikers Bay, the area is cheap for food with a meal in a cheap restaurant costing from 3.67 and a three course meal for two costing around 18.79. Even a beer is well priced, with a bottle costing just 1.20. The closest airport to ldeniz is Dalaman Airport around 60 kilometres away or just over an hours drive. Skyscanner lists flights from the UK to Dalaman from 83 for a return.

You can find well-priced rooms in the area too to keep the cost of a holiday low. The cheapest spot we found was a hotel two miles from the centre with a swimming pool for just 23 a night for two thats just 11.50 each. Other hotels on offer include the Tuncacan hotel for 29 or a suite with two bedrooms at Larimar for just 34.

Thrill-seekers can take off from Babada Mountain which offers breathtaking aerial views of the coastline and the Blue Lagoon. The surrounding hills are filled with mountains, pine forests and verdant valleys. Holidaymakers can explore the area by hiking the local trails or taking boat trips to hidden coves and beaches.

When youre done exploring the outstanding natural beauty of the region you can check out some of the historical sites. The ancient city of Fethiye, with its Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs is close by and dates back to the fourth century.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Letoon is just four kilometres away too. Visitors to Letoon can explore the ruins of temples dedicated to Leto, Artemis, and Apollo, as well as a Nymphaeum and an agora or market.

Finally, when you head back into town for the evening you can enjoy a vibrant nightlife scene. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs where visitors can enjoy live music, dance the evening away and try the tasty local food. Whether you're looking for a seaside restaurant with panoramic views of the Mediterranean or a cozy taverna tucked away in the narrow streets of a historic town there's a spot you'll adore.

Regional specialities in the area include meze a selection of small dishes which are popular here in the UK from hummus and flatbread to dips, meatballs and rolled vine leaves. Other popular dishes include grilled kebabs, side which is a kind of Turkish pizza and seafood including grilled or baked fish, calamari and shrimp.
