Underrated party town in Portugal has pints under 2 and all-night beach parties

Lagos, in Portugal, can be reached via Faro and has gorgeous beaches, all-night beach parties, DJ nights and dozens of fun clubs and bars for a reasonable price

Brits looking to jet off this summer to enjoy a holiday filled with drinks and dancing need look no further than Portugal. The gorgeous country takes just a few hours to get to from the UK and it has a lesser known party town thats taking off in Europe.

While clubbers are likely to head to Ibiza, Sunny Beach or Magaluf, they may want to consider Lagos in Portugal instead, thanks to its cheap prices.

According to pintprice.com, a pint of beer in Lagos will set you back just 1.69. Thats compared to an average of 4 in London which we all know is far lower than the cost in many of the capitals bars and clubs.

Lagos, in Portugal not to be confused with Lagos in Nigeria is set in the Algarve region. Which means the town is surrounded by incredibly beautiful beaches with clear water, towering cliffs and sweeping headland views.

During the day you can relax at the best beaches like Praia do Camilo or Praia de Dona Ana, or you can go sea kayaking to explore the fascinating geological features of the area. Of course there's always the option to simply lay out in the sun and enjoy the balmy temperatures of 28C.

The beaches around Lagos often boast rock formations that compete with Durdle Door for their beauty. You can also go wind surfing, take a jeep safari, enjoy a winery tour or even hop on a catamaran boat trip to of dolphin watching.

In Lagos theres also quad biking, you can hire a hot air balloon or climb through the tree canopies on the high ropes. Plus, a kind of creepy wax museum if you want to see Portugals history brought to life.

When the sun starts to go out you can get stuck into Lagos vibrant nightlife or outstanding restaurants. Some reviews call the nightlife unmatched.

If you prefer to keep things laid back then you can head to the Old Town where pretty bars offer drinks and snacks. Its great to grab a table and spend several hours chatting away in them.

Those who are after the full party experience can head to the nightclubs which close when the sun comes up in the morning. From sunset DJ nights to all-night raves the party even continues onto the beaches in the summer time.

The ultimate beach party is on Dina Beach where you can watch the sunset and sun rise from Meia Praia Beach. Several nights a week in the busy season there are DJ sets at the venue and you can even eat a full course meal before enjoying the music.

Theres also The Garden which is a large beer garden perfect for sipping on beer and soaking up the night. There are also dozens of different clubs and bars which cater to different music tastes from classic rock to Latin American music.

Travelling to Lagos also wont break the bank for Brits wanting a holiday. You can fly out to Faro from 13 one-way with Wizz Air. While you can then hop on a train to Lagos for around six euros (5.15).

In terms of accommodation theres a whole range of hostels, hotels and guest houses. Those looking for the cheapest trip possible can head to a hostel. Five nights at the Racing Mackerel Hostel in a dorm room will set you back just 116 for two thats 11.60 each per night.

If youd prefer a private studio you can get five nights with a sea view on the beachfront at Iberlagos. It costs just 222 for five nights based on two sharing meaning youll pay 22.50 each. ,
