MasterChef star found dead at his home as cops launch official investigation

MasterChef champion Eren Kak was tragically found dead at his home by a friend this week, aged just 37. He rose to stardom after clinching victory in the Turkish version of the culinary show in 2021, and later returned for an All Stars series.

His body was discovered in his bedroom at his Istanbul home by business associate Mikail Malkoolu on July 29, after his family sounded the alarm when they were unable to contact him.

Paramedics declared him dead at the scene, and his body was taken for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death, while local police have initiated an ongoing probe into his sudden demise.

According to his mate Malkoolu, initial medical evaluations suggest there is a "strong possibility" the chef succumbed to a heart attack. Following his stint on the popular cooking contest, he opened his own eatery Kzl Sakal Sandwich & Burger in Istanbul and reportedly had plans to launch a new venue.

His funeral is scheduled to take place at his family's residence in Tokat on July 31, reports the Express.

Judges from the hit series were quick to pay their respects, with MasterChef Turkey judge Mehmet Yalnkaya stating: "My dear brother, you always said 'God exists, there is no sorrow,' my dear brother, you had a heart that wouldn't even hurt an ant. You never had your eye on worldly possessions.

"My heart aches, a fire has fallen into my soul. May God grant you paradise. I'm sorry, gok."

Danilo Zanna, expressed: "Your smiling face, sincerity, and beautiful heart will always remain in my memory. The beautiful memories you left behind and the mark you left on people's hearts will never be erased.

"Our deepest condolences. We will never forget you.

"I offer my condolences and prayers for strength to your family and everyone who loved you. May your beautiful heart rest in peace.".
