Charlotte Crosby claims no one watches Geordie Shore anymore after she quit the MTV show 10 years ago.
The telly star opened up on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet in London last night as she spoke exclusively to the Daily Star. Charlotte reflected on how much life has changed since her early days on the hit series, which first launched her into fame in 2011.
However, Charlotte couldnt resist reflecting on how younger generations now view the MTV show that made her a household name. One of my friends sons, who is like 13 or 14, I was round their house and he was there with his friends and none of them had a clue who I was. Not one of them. This generation, they have never watched it.
She suggested that in years to come, the MTV reality series may become even more of a nostalgic throwback, which she says is a good thing for when her two daughters, Alba, 3, and Pixi,1, grow up. So in 12 years time its going to be so far in the archives no one is going to mention it, she laughed. So Ive got hope.
Despite her tongue-in-cheek comments, Charlotte was quick to stress she still has affection for the show and its legacy. Yeah, but listen, no one really watches it anymore, she added. Im not in it."
"My friends are still in it and I do tune in now and then, but not for me.
Charlotte admitted she still keeps in touch with many of her former castmates and is enjoying watching them move into motherhood and new life stages.
Holly is about to have her second [child] and Sophie is about to have her first, honestly it is so beautiful, she said. We are all going into motherhood and it really is the best stage of our lives.
She added that the group remains incredibly close despite no longer working together on screen, describing them as like sisters.
We are so close, we are like sisters, she explained. Me and Sophie were Hollys bridesmaids, its really, really special.
