Christine McGuinness had a tearful evening at the Celebs Go Dating Agency, as she bared her soul to relationship gurus Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson about her marriage breakdown with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness. The pair confirmed their split in 2022 following 11 years of wedlock, though they kept quiet about the reasons behind their divorce until now - with Christine disclosing she reached a point where she felt "enough was enough".

The mum-of-three disclosed that "trust was broken" with Paddy, while admitting she's been wrestling with guilt over being the one who ended their relationship.

After struggling through a challenging mixer in the opening episode, Christine sought guidance from the dating experts, leading to a heart-to-heart about her recent split and anxieties around disappointing others.

Probing into her history, Anna questioned the reality star: "What happened around the break up and who initiated it?"

Hinting that Paddy had erred, Christine responded: "Anyone can make mistakes but I think the trust was broken," before adding: "I'll always love him, he's the father of my children and I think he's the only man that I'll ever love."

She went on: "A lot of people make mistakes and mess up, and when you're in a couple who is quite well known in the industry, obviously then everyone knows your business. He was getting a really, really difficult time in the press," though she stopped short of detailing the nature of these 'mistakes'.

Seeking clarification, celebrity matchmaker Anna pressed: "Because of that?"

"Yeah, and I didn't like that," Christine responded. "It was a lot for him and I just really wanted it to stop. So it was me that said 'enough is enough.'"

Revealing her feelings of remorse, Christine went on: "So, in some ways I suppose I still carry that feeling of, 'Well it's my fault because I ended it,'" while Paul gazed on in disbelief, reports the Mirror..

Discussing their romance with the cameras, Christine revealed: "We had an amazing 15 years, we really did. The last couple of years, things just weren't quite the same. I think once the respect isn't quite there anymore, it's time to leave."

She later confided to the estate agents that choosing to walk away from Paddy was the most difficult choice she'd ever faced in her entire life, "and it forever will be".

Back in 2022, the couple revealed their split through a joint Instagram story, which stated: "We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

"A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus was as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

"This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.

"We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together. We hope this now draws a line under anymore unwanted and unnecessary intrusion into our private life.
