Emmerdale and Coronation Street will not air on ITVX or ITV tonight (August 12) as part of another scheduling shake-up due to a football event.
The latest changes to ITV's scheduling come after soap fans endured disruption to their regular weekday timetable of Emmerdale at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8:30pm, during June and July due to the FIFA World Cup.
The long-running soaps are both absent again from Wednesday's ITV schedule to make room for a live football match as Manchester United take on Leeds United in a pre-season friendly.
The game between the two Premier League teams will kick off at Dublins Croke Park, with coverage from 7pm to 10pm on ITV.
It will be the first time a club football fixture has ever been played at Irelands largest stadium and the first football fixture at the venue since November 2009.
The match is part of both clubs' preparations for the 2026/2027 campaign, with the new Premier League season approaching later this month.
Soap fans won't have to wait long to catch up on the latest from the Dales and Weatherfield as both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will return to ITV and ITVX on Thursday, 13 August, in their usual spots.
Emmerdale will continue to follow the fallout from Dr. Caitlin Todd's (Caroline Harker) death as Woolpack landlady, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), remains at the police station while investigations into the "murder" take place.
Elsewhere, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) remains in hospital after nearly being killed by Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).
He has wrongfully accused love rival Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) of the crime, as he plans to run away with his ex-wife Dawn (Olivia Bromley), who is pregnant with Joe's baby, and their children.
Over on the cobbles, Corrie is also airing the aftermath of a death as Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) faces the consequences of the investigation into the recent murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
Sarah remains in prison while Gary Windass (Mikey North) appears ready to confess in recent scenes, leaving Sarah and Gary's freedom hanging in the balance. Will Sarah get out of prison?
Coronation Street and Emmerdale both air weekdays on ITV and ITVX
