Coronation Street has been airing explosive scenes lately thanks to the arrival of Tim Metcalfe's cousin Richie.
Only recently, Tim was floored to pick up his cousin Richie, who he hasn't seen in years, as a fare in the precinct. Due to his wife Sally Metcalfe being away, Tim invited Richie over for some drinks with the lads.
During the drinks, Richie confided in Tim about his unhappy marriage to which Tim offered him a place to stay for the night.
Later, Richie admitted he was in the dog house with his wife, Rachel, for staying out and Sally, who arrived home early from holiday, reluctantly let Richie stay longer.
However, Sally soon had a change of heart, demanding that Richie leaves. Tim then drove Richie home, urging him not to give up on his marriage.
After finding Richie's wallet at home, Tim drove back to his house where he found a disoriented and bloodied Richie. Upon entering the house, Tim was horrified and called the police.
On Tuesday's episode, which is available on ITVX now, DS Lisa Swain calls round and confirms that they've charged Richie with the murder of his wife.
Lisa informs Tim and Sally that Richie's daughter Lucy has been taken into care and Richie claims he acted in self defence. Episodes later this week will see Lucy move in with Tim and Sally.
The role of Tim's cousin Richie is being played by actor Nathan Sussex. Nathan, 51, is best known for playing Buster Smith in Hollyoaks from 2018 to 2021. Other roles include The Good Ship Murder, Believe Me, and Midsomer Murders - to name just a few.
Taking to Twitter, now X, soap watchers have been quick to recognise Richie actor Nathan.
One person said: "What was that bloke in before? I recognise him as a bad guy #corrie!" to which another account replied: "Hollyoaks!"
Meanwhile, another soap watcher wrote: "Where do I recognise the new guy from? He's deffo been on a soap before. #corrie!" to which a different fan added: "He used to be in Hollyoaks!"
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
