Coronation Street has appeared to have teased Gary Windass' fate on the cobbles.

Only recently, Sarah Platt was arrested and put in prison for the murder of Theo Silverton. Earlier this year, Sarah found herself in a showdown with the evil villain, where she hit him with a metal pipe.

This resulted in Theo falling from the scaffolding onto the floor and he died from his injuries, making Sarah responsible. In a panic, Sarah contacted her ex Gary to help cover up the crime to which he agreed.

Since then, Sarah confessed to the murder of Theo Silverton after being arrested by the police yet she has left Gary's name out of it, not mentioning that he was an accomplice.

However, this has infuriated police officer Kit Green, who is in a relationship with Sarah, as he is very aware that Gary was in fact involved.

Kit has been hoping that due to Gary's involvement, Sarah could get a lighter sentence, hoping to prove that Gary's the reason Sarah didn't go to the police at the time.

After getting evidence from Gary and Sarah's phones, Kit threatened Gary, demanding he turn himself over or he would track down the weapon where Gary hid it. He said: "Confess or you're going away for a long, long time", giving him a time limit.

On Sunday's episode, which is available on ITVX now, Gary sought legal advice from Adam Barlow, who encouraged him to come clean and tell the truth. Meanwhile, at the same time, Bethany Platt visited her mum Sarah in prison, where she told her about Kit's plan.

Kit is trying to do everything he can to make sure Sarah gets out of prison - but fans are worried about what it might mean for Gary

This resulted in Sarah contacting Kit, demanding he drop his plan, to which an annoyed Kit vowed to tell Gary the latest update.

However, things took a complicated turn as the episode ended with Gary at the police station, seemingly about to tell all. In the dramatic cliffhanger, Gary told DS Lisa Swain he wanted to "tell the truth".

It remains to be seen what Gary tells DS Swain and whether it will impact Sarah further or involve Kit, who is unaware Gary is about to "spill all" at the station.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "If Gary goes down I hope he drags Kit down with him - Its not fair on Gary."

Another wrote: "If Gary gets punished for Sarahs crime Im going to be fuming, it would be so s**t..."

While a different soap watcher added: "Oh Gary. I really hope this doesn't tie in with Jake having a big storyline coming up. We don't need another kid going off the rails because their dad is in prison. We don't need another kid going off the rails full stop. #Corrie."

Coronation Street airs tonight, Sunday 9 August, at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
