Coronation Street has confirmed Audrey Roberts has bagged herself a new man.

The character, played by Sue Nicholls, is a telly legend - making her debut way back in 1979. Audrey rocked up to the cobbles as the mum of Gail (Helen Worth) - and it didnt take Audrey long to become a firm favourite.

Over the years, viewers have been through heartbreak and joy with Audrey, including her marriage to Alf Roberts (Bryan Mosley) in 1985 and his tragic death in 1999.

And like her daughter, Audrey has had a dramatic love life too on the famous street. After Alfs death, she struck up a romance with butcher Fred Elliott (John Savident).

She also got engaged to former male escort and con man Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers). Lewis eventually changed his ways in order to marry Audrey before dying suddenly in 2019.

In recent months though, Audrey hasnt appeared on the soap, sparking serious concern from fans. The character is currently abroad in France with her daughter Gail.
