EastEnders fans 'work out' Max Branning's bride after spotting old 'clues'

EastEnders fans are convinced they know who will be Max Branning's wife as he gears up to walk down the aisle. Sleuths have found major "clues" that date back months ago that point to the mystery woman.

Notorious ladies' man Max is set to get married in a few months' time, after a flashforward episode to New Year's Day showed him about to get married. However, the identity of the woman he was about to wed stayed secret.

Since then, fans have been theorising on several different names, wondering who Max could end up tying the knot to. Now, a new name has been chucked into the mix and fans are now certain it must be her.

Previously, viewers had suggested names such as Cindy Beale, Linda Carter and even Denise Fox as a potential bride for Max. But now, resurfaced clues have pointed fans in the direction of Denise's daughter Chelsea.

Fans initially slammed the theory, as the pair have barely interacted with each other. This comes despite the fact that Denise is currently hitched with Max's brother Jack.

But according to the Radio Times, speculation is now pointing in Chelsea's direction, after they spotted some clues that could suggest it is her he is set to marry. Viewers may remember the time when Max got on one knee to propose to Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins.

She infamously turned Max down and insisted she didn't want to become his fifth wife. However, attention soon turned to Chelsea with the rest of her family waiting in the hospital, wearing what the publication described as a white outfit.

In another strange coincidence, as Chelsea and her family waited in the emergency room, a shot of the clock showed the time to be 1:05. This could translate to both hands being on the number one, suggesting a one-to-one between Chelsea and Max.

With the wedding not set for another four months, speculation remains high, but with the clock's time also correlating to a possible 1/1 date, fans were quick to put the pieces together. One user believed it to be true, saying: "I have said this for months!"

A second penned: "I noticed this and my whole living room said I was crazy." While a third said: "Okay this is the best theory, I love this."

However, not everyone was won over by the theory, with one user poking holes in the idea: "It seems to be the only thing that makes sense for Ian being best man. I dont see how they will develop a storyline for those two getting along unless Chelsea is the bride, now Ian and her have a close connection.

EastEnders airs every weekday at 7:30 on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
