EastEnders Lily star's life real age, forgotten role and 'famous' family member

Lillia Turner has been playing Lily Slater since 2020, with the character involved in a controversial teen pregnancy plot, but what about the soap star's life off-screen?

EastEnders: Stacey is shocked as she is told Lily is pregnant

EastEnders actress Lillia Turner has played Lily Slater on the BBC soap since 2020.

Lily is the daughter of Stacey Slater and Ryan Malloy, but Lily has been raised by Stacey and her ex-husband Martin Fowler and she refers to him as her dad.

Involved in a very controversial storyline, Lillia's on-screen persona fell pregnant at just 12 years of age.

But what about the girl behind the character of Lily Slater? Scroll on to learn more about Lillia Turner as her teen pregnancy storyline unravels.

Forgotten soap role

Lillia's role of Lily Slater wasn't her first soap role, nor was it her first stint in EastEnders.

Playing the role of a child named Alyssa before landing the regular character of Lily, Lillia took to social media to share a throwback snap last year.

In a throwback photo, Lillia could be seen as part of a group of children being football coached by Mick Carter and Mitch Baker.

At the time she captioned the post: "Throwback to my first EastEnders role."

This means Lillia made her her EastEnders debut back in 2019, when she starred in the two episodes as Alyssa, a year before landing her permanent role as already established character Lily.

When she took on the role of Lily, she replaced Aine Garvey who starred in the soap from 2014 until 2019.

Famous relative rumour

Both Lillia and Lacey share their Turner surname - which has prompted a rumour that they're related

Due to Lillia and her on-screen mum sharing the same surname in real life, fans have long thought that they might have been related in real life.

Both Lillia and Lacey share Turner as their surname, prompting the rumour that they're secretly related both on and off the screen.

But MyLondon reports that the pair are only connected by their surname and are not actually relatives.

In the soap Lily is 13 years of age, but in real life, Lilia is slightly older.

Lillia is 14 years of age and the fifth child star to play the youngster.

As we mentioned earlier, Lillia took over from Aine Garvey who played the role between 2014 and 2019.

But when she was a baby however, the role of Lily was played by three different actors before her four year hiatus and exit in 2010.

EastEnders airs Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
