Actress Flo Wilson is best known for playing Claudette Anderson in Emmerdale.

The actress made her ITV debut as Claudette back in 2023, and has been involved in several memorable storylines since then. They include the death of her grandson, Ethan (Emile John), and her explosive confrontations with her fellow villagers.

Claudette recently took centre stage as she formed a close bond with Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) ex-husband, Kev Barton (Chris Coghill).

The ex-convict has recently returned to the village to get to know his son, Lewis (Bradley Riches), much to the frustration of Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Some Emmerdale fans may be surprised to learn that Claudette wasn't the first Dales role for actress Flo. She notably played Nurse Bradshaw over ten years ago, who helped Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) when he was admitted to hospital following a breakdown, reports the Mirror.

Away from the soap, Flo shares her life with her husband John Smeathers, who is also an actor. The couple, who got married in 2018, have both appeared in Coronation Street over the years.

John made his debut in Weatherfield in 2018 as a clergyman at St Luke's Church, who conducted the funeral service for Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), after his heartbreaking suicide.

Meanwhile, Flo previously graced the cobbles in several different capacities. She notably portrayed childminder Kerry Matthews in 1998, before taking on the part of a nurse at Weatherfield General in 2008 and 2009.

Her final stint in Weatherfield came in 2014, when she assumed the character of midwife Claire Hinton.

The acting couple have kept their personal life very private, but fans were surprised to learn Flo's real age not too long ago.

A number of viewers were stunned after realising that 63-year-old Flo is only ten years older than Kevin Mathurin, who plays her on-screen son Charles Anderson.

Taking to Reddit, one Emmerdale fan wrote: "Kevin Mathurin, who plays Charles, is 53. Flo Wilson, who plays his mum Claudette, is 63. My mind is blown at how young Claudette is in real life. Flo is actually YOUNGER than Claire King (Kim Tate!)."

Another added: "If it wasn't for her sour faced expressions, and the head scarf with wisps of grey hair sticking out of it, there's no way Claudette would look old enough to be Charles' mother.

"You can practically see the actress's real hair trying to make a run for it through the scarf in certain scenes. Don't get me wrong, I like her character. Just not how the wardrobe and make-up department make her look like someone who's been transported from the 1950's."

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, and is followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm
