Emmerdale Dr Todd's killer 'exposed' as fan favourite after telling clue

The evil surgeon staged a shock comeback to the Dales on Thursday and viewers are convinced they know who will murder her.

Emmerdale villain Dr. Caitlin Todd made a surprise visit to the village ahead of her untimely death.

In recent episodes of the ITV soap, devastated Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has been trying to piece her life back together after being sexually assaulted and blackmailed by Dr. Todd (Caroline Harker).

The Woolpack landlady faced further upset on Wednesday (August 6) as her son, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham), left for a new job in Germany. Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) have been trying to comfort Charity through her ordeal, and it appeared she was making progress.

However, there was a nasty surprise on Thursday (August 6), as Dr. Todd walked into Sheffield Hospital to start work when she bumped into Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), and they agreed to meet later for a drink.

Elsewhere, Charity returned to the support group to help with her trauma before returning home to speak to her husband, Mack, about her experience.

The couple embraces, with Charity saying she feels a "tiny bit of weight" has been lifted from her shoulders, at which point Todd is seen watching her from a distance.

Later, Manpreet is seen staggering away from Todd's car when they bump into Vanessa, who dated Todd at one point. The vet quickly calls Todd a rapist and a bully, and vowed "this isn't over".

Moments later, Todd lets herself into Charity's house, leaving her stunned. Will a showdown between the two lead to Todd's death?

In a recent flashforward, viewers caught a glimpse of Todd lying on the floor with blood pouring from her dead body, implying she had been murdered.

The scene happened only moments after Mack warned Todd that he would kill her if she ever went near Charity again.

Emmerdale fans have since been predicting who will kill Todd, with some viewers suggesting Mack is destined to deliver the fatal blow as the actor is joining the new season of Strictly Come Dancing.

Taking to X, one person asked: "So with Lawrence announced for Strictly, do we think Macks getting the blame for Todd? #Emmerdale."

A second replied: "Yeah, that is possible and would make sense. I guess he doesn't need to leave temporarily. Soap stars have continued to work and do Strictly, but they may have a smaller role during that period."

A third chimed in: "#Emmerdale does this mean hes going to go down for Todds murder?" as another confessed: "I'm wondering the same thing?"

"Off to prison for Killing Todd #Emmerdale," simply exclaimed another.

Is Mack leaving the Dales?

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lawrence confirmed he will still be filming Emmerdale scenes while taking part in the BBC competition, which is set to start next month.

He said: "Just a little video message to let you guys know that for the next couple of months, alongside strutting my stuff on the Emmerdale fields, I'm going to be strutting my stuff on the dance floor wearing sequins and wearing tap shoes because as luck would have it, I am doing Strictly Come Dancing."

Lawrence added: "Help, please. Very much looking forward to it, it's very exciting, but I am terrified. So be kind, and I will see you on the dance floor."

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
