Emmerdale fans believe they have worked out Nicola Kings next romance in the village.

Nicola (played by Nicola Wheeler) made her debut on the soap way back in 2011. And as the village busybody, Nicola quickly became a firm favourite with the shows loyal legion of fans.

She has also played a part in lots of big storylines. From her experience with physical and psychological trauma to her beloved romance with Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Nicolas time in the Dales has not been short of drama.

Recently, Nicola has been dealing with Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) who came back to the village hoping to bond with his biological son, Lewis (Bradley Riches).

Nicola is a firm favourite

Her relationship with Jimmy has also gone through a rough patch, with Nicola attempting to put the spark back in their marriage.

Whats more, earlier this year it was reported that Jimmy King was going to be killed off after decades on the soap. Its been speculated that his exit could have something to do with the return of Jimmy's ex-wife, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), which was also recently confirmed.

And while some fans reckon Nicola could date Kev after Jimmys potential death, other viewers have another potential suitor - and its someone unexpected.

Writing on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers have predicted Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson). One person said: Nicola and Jai should get together when Jimmy dies.

Another added: Yes they would be good together. Echoing their thoughts, a third chimed in: Wouldnt be the strangest soap pairings!

Both Nicola and Jai have been in the soap for years and the pair have shared various dramatic storylines, workplace run-ins and neighborhood dynamics.

Meanwhile, earlier this year it was reported that Jimmy was going to be killed off. A source told The Sun: Bosses are under pressure to cut costs and sadly that means popular cast members being told their time is up.

They also claimed: Once the decision was made that Nick would be leaving, the writers quickly realised his character wouldnt abandon his wife and children so they had to kill him off."
