Amy Nuttall has been pictured in her new role and it's worlds away from the Dales.
The actress made her name as Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale, starring in the ITV soap from 2000. The character caused all sorts of trouble in the village, faking a pregnancy and sending poison pen letters, and she fled in shame in 2005.
Amy has now been cast in Channel 5's Forever Home. Described by the broadcaster as "a darkly emotional story about marriage, family and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children", the show is a screen adaptation of TV star Graham Nortons novel.
The actress will play Carol, the wife of Robert, who will be played by Shetland actor Douglas Henshall.
A synopsis for the show said: "When her older partner Robert's dementia worsens, Carol Crottie (Amy) starts to wonder if the reason he wont leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Roberts brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden (Lewis Cope) and Sally (Jenny Walser).
"When Roberts anxiety about the houses hidden basement, rises, Carols curiosity is piqued as she and her mother investigate the whereabouts of Roberts first wife, Joan.
"But the secrets Robert has kept will take a long time to untangle."
Other cast members include Kevin Whately, Shane Zaza and Denise Welch, who will star as Carols mother Moira Crottie.
The series is co-produced by FilmNation Entertainment and The Mediapro Studio, supported by the North East Production Fund and North East Screen.
Paul Testar, commissioning editor at 5, said when it was announced: Were delighted to partner with FilmNation and The Mediapro Studio to bring Graham Nortons compelling novel to UK screens, supported by an outstanding cast. Working with North East Screen again to champion local filming has been a pleasure, and we cant wait for viewers to immerse themselves in Forever Home.
Kirstie Macdonald, FilmNation TV UK Creative Director, said: From the moment I read the always-hilarious Graham Nortons brilliant novel, I knew I wanted to bring Forever Home to the screen.
"Its a story full of twists and turns, secrets, and emotional depth that we cant wait to bring to life for 5 audiences."
Forever Home is coming soon to watch and stream on 5.
