Celebrity Big Brother's seventeenth series premiered on Channel 5 in January 2016 and went on to provide some of the most memorable reality television moments ever.

Fans recently gathered on Reddit to look back on the season, with one crowning it as the most 'iconic' instalment ever.

It was most notable for producing the 'David's dead' meme, which came after David Bowie's ex-wife, Angie, received news that the music legend had died.

In a quiet moment away from the rest of the cast, Angie confided in American reality star Tiffany Pollard about her loss. But Tiffany caught the wrong end of the stick and assumed their housemate, David Gest, had passed away.

She consequently put on a dramatic display as she mourned the American film producer, all while he was alive and well in the house.

The saga was later cleared up but it led to a flood of OfCom complaints. Sadly, David Gest would pass just three months after exiting the show, after suffering a stroke.
