A fan who went to the live Love Island has revealed what the experience was truly like, including encounters with the programme's stars.
ITV's reality dating show concluded its 13th series with a live finale earlier this week. The proceedings were transmitted live from the villa in Majorca.
Viewers at home will have spotted that there was a substantial audience present. This included all the previously eliminated Islanders who had featured during the series, reports OK!
However, there was also a group of fans who had journeyed to Spain to see Julia and Lorenzo claim their crown and prize. One of those attendees has now detailed their experience online.
Posting on the Love Island UK subreddit, they revealed: "I got back earlier today from Majorca after attending both the Love Island Aftersun and S13 Finale tapings. I wanted to share about my experiences (especially because I couldn't find much online from previous years), but realised I'm so tired from all the travel that I have no idea what people would find interesting. So, if there's anything you're curious about, please ask!"
They disclosed that guests were told to gather at a particular bar in Magaluf. From there, they were actually transported by coach to a restaurant en route to the villa.
Everyone who formed part of the public audience was required to surrender their phones before stepping foot inside the villa. This is why you won't have seen any cheeky photos from anyone on the inside.
But this also meant that those present weren't able to cast their votes in the final.
It wasn't long before fellow fans began firing more detailed questions about what it's actually like to be at the Love Island final in the flesh. When quizzed about the practicalities of securing tickets and the expense, the poster revealed they simply googled 'Love Island Finale tickets' online.
Love Island fans can catch all the action from the new season when outside the UK with ExpressVPN.
The service is available on laptops, smartphones, tablets and other devices running Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
Through that search they discovered an online application form where they entered basic details and were approved within minutes. They confessed to being baffled about how or why they were chosen, with producers revealing that up to half a million people had supposedly applied to attend.
Those attending are expected to sort out and fund their own flights and lodging over there. Transport from the designated meeting spot to the villa was, however, complimentary.
They cautioned: "If this is something you're interested in the future, definitely stay as close as you can to the meet-up point because taxis in Majorca are crazy expensive and buses aren't a viable option at 2am."
Regarding how the actual filming operates, audience members are 'encouraged' to make noise and react however they fancy. Whether that's through cheering, laughing or booing at something they disapprove of.
It is described as exaggerated rather than inauthentic. And despite Maya Jama's cheeky joke that the Islanders were 'drinking the bar dry' during the show, the poster claims that there was actually no alcohol made available at the villa.
Audience members were also prohibited from smoking or vaping.
Asked about specific Islanders, they revealed that Lorenzo and Julia were the most interactive with the audience. Julia danced and waved sparking some cheers from the crowd.
Angelista made hand hearts while Jasmine and Kavan are said to have mostly kept to themselves and talked a lot amongst each other. Although this was when the were both getting their makeup touched up and having photos taken during commercial breaks.
As for the others, they said: "Most were pretty in-line with how they appeared on TV. Ope and Aidan enjoy being sort of class clowns. I didn't see it, but other members of the audience claimed they saw Maya get stressed on time when Priya would over-explain on Aftersun. I felt bad when no one in the audience clapped for Lola when Yasmin said she was her best friend in the villa."
Love Island Series 13 is streaming on ITVX.
