Emmerdale fans were quick to spot Charity Dingle's 'mistake' amid her baby secret storyline.
Soap watchers will recall that only recently, Charity, portrayed by Emma Atkins, agreed to be a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden. Sarah is eager to become a mother following her emergency hysterectomy.
After undergoing an embryo transfer, Charity discovered she was pregnant, much to the dismay of her husband Mack Boyd, who had hoped they would have their own child together.
However, after a fall in the woods and subsequent bleeding, Charity feared the embryo transfer had been unsuccessful.
In response, Sarah's grandfather Cain Dingle offered to fund another attempt. During a follow-up appointment, Charity was stunned to discover that she is indeed pregnant.
In typical soap opera fashion, a series of flashbacks revealed that Charity had secretly slept with ex-lover Ross Barton (Mike Parr) following a heated argument with Mack.
After learning Charity is pregnant, Ross confronted his ex, asking if the baby was his to which Charity denied this fact. However, Ross was right, as after receiving the paternity test results, which confirmed Ross as the dad, Charity has been struggling.
In recent scenes, Charity has been opening up to Chas Dingle, who has been encouraging her to tell the truth. After contemplating an abortion, Charity told Chas that she couldn't go through with it and Chas hoped this would mean Charity would tell everyone the truth.
However, in true Charity style, she instead got her son Ryan Stocks to edit the original paternity test results to say Ross isn't the father of her baby.
Later, Charity told Chas what she had done, which left the duo arguing where a confused Sarah asked what they were bickering about to which they lied to her face.
During some of the scenes, Charity and Chas have been arguing and talking loudly at Charity's home. Soap watchers have been left confused about this fact, especially as Charity's husband Mack is recovering at home following being held hostage by John Sugden.
Taking to social media, one person said: "So Mack cant leave the house yet because of what happened. Where was he when Charity and Chas were having a full on conversation about lying about the baby??? Surly if he was upstairs he'd hear them..."
To which a different account replied: "I was just thinking the same thing lol", another put: "I said the same wheres Mac" while a different viewer commented: "I said that as well. ??"
However, another viewer was quick to suggest: "He might be out somewhere..."
Emmerdale continues on weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
