Another ITV star is leaving the channel.

James Gooderson, who regularly appeared on Good Morning Britian, has shared the news that he's stepping down from his role after three years.

During his time on air, he has worked on GMB as well as ITV News but he is leaving the broadcaster for good and is moving to America for his next job.

Taking to X, James announced: "After a fantastic 3 years at ITV and ITV News I've joined Feature Story News as a Washington Correspondent.

I'll be working out of the DC office covering President Trump and the latest political news on Capitol Hill for a number of international news clients.

"Alongside reporting in Washington I'll also be reporting across the US ahead of the midterms. Can't wait to get started!"

James has since been inundated with messages of support since sharing his announcement on Monday (July 27). One fan penned: "Huge congratulations on your move. Cant wait to catch your reporting as things heat up for the midterms. Big next chapter, well deserved!"

Another added: "Wow James! This is amazing. Huge congratulations. Youll be doing great work and cant wait to hear you more!"

A third person said: "Congratulations! Sounds like an amazing role." A fourth agreed: "Absolutely fantastic news mate. You will be absolutely brilliant."

The latest GMB departure comes just days after presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls said goodbye to a beloved colleague live on air.

At the end of Wednesday's (July 22) show, the hosts paid a heartfelt tribute to the show's director, Stuart Earl, who was leaving the role after 10 years.

"We just want to, before we go, say a huge goodbye to our amazing director, Stuart. He's getting on his motorbike and he's off, he's going to be riding over some mountains somewhere," Susanna said.

"But he's been with us for ten years and we are grateful for every minute. Stuart, thank you. Good luck, goodbye."

The studio erupted into applause, as Ed continued: "Stuart, you are a total genius. You have been so brilliant. You support us so much, thank you very, very much."

Andi Peters announced Stuart's departure earlier this week, as he presented the competition segment.

He said: "Now, Susanna and Ed, interestingly I've got to send one text as well today. It's to our director Stuart. Today's my last day working with him."

Andi then jokingly pretended to type into his phone: "Stuart, love you lots! [It's] been a great ten years. Good luck, Stuart. Thank the lord I'm not doing Tuesday and Wednesday live, so I don't have to work with you."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
