The Daily Star: News with a Wink

ITV This Morning's Alison Hammond makes cheeky husband request to co-star Dermot O'Leary

There was a spot of flirting in the ITV This Morning studio on Friday as Alison Hammond gave her co-presenter Dermot O'Leary an hilarious proposition for the New Year

Alison Hammond jokes that she would be 'perfect' if Dermot O'Leary was her 'husband'

This Morning star Alison Hammond hilariously flirted with her co-presenter Dermot O'Leary as the pair opened 2023's final instalment of the ITV show on Friday.

After viewers were treated to a performance by the cast of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical, 48-year old Alison began by telling fans she "hoped they had the best Christmas" before asking Dermot if he'd enjoyed the festive season too.

Keeping up with festive spirits, Alison said: "So it's almost New Years," before Dermot interrupted out of the blue: "Do you know what? I'd love to spend the New Year with you!"

Blushing, Alison quipped: "I'd love to. Where would we go? New York?" Dermot simply replied: "Maldives." Then, asked if he has any New Years resolutions, Dermot explained that he's taking up a form of Pilates to help with a glute problem.

Alison added: "I don't believe in these resolutions. We never keep them. Maybe for just a week. So I'm just going to keep doing me." Dermot interjected again: "Well, it's difficult when you're perfect."

"I'm not perfect - I wish I was," said Alison. "I'd be perfect if you were my... husband!" she admitted, before the pair burst into fits of laughter.

Mother-of-three Holly famously left This Morning in October after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her was foiled by police.

But now, it's reported that Holly has "delighted" the broadcaster by confirming her return to the series, which she used to host with former best pal, Phillip Schofield. Now, she will front the show with Stephen Mulhern instead.

Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment commissioning at ITV, said: "Holly and Stephen are two of our best loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing On Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show."
