Jeremy Clarkson gasps for breath after defying doctors following heart scare

Clarkson's Farm viewers will see the TV star struggling to breathe after cutting down a tree despite being ordered to avoid manual labour following his frightening heart scare

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed just how badly his recent health scare affected him after cameras caught him struggling to catch his breath while carrying out manual work he had been explicitly told to avoid.

The former Top Gear presenter, 66, suffered a major heart scare in October 2024 and was rushed to hospital after doctors warned he was only days away from a potentially fatal heart attack.

But despite strict medical advice to rest, Jeremy couldn't resist throwing himself back into life on the farm. In the latest series of Clarkson's Farm, viewers watch the TV favourite head out in search of the perfect Christmas tree for a festive grotto at his pub.

Armed with nothing more than a handsaw, Jeremy throws himself into the task. However, it quickly becomes clear he's pushing himself too far.

After lying on the ground to cut through the trunk, Jeremy's breathing becomes increasingly laboured. Forced to stop, he leans forward as he struggles to catch his breath.

The footage shows the presenter visibly uncomfortable as he eventually stands up, grimacing while trying to steady his breathing. Between gasps, Jeremy admits to the film crew: "I shouldn't have done that."

The worrying moment comes after doctors instructed him not to drive for a week and to avoid any form of manual labour for six weeks following his heart procedure.

Yet the farming enthusiast admits rest was never really on the cards.

Elsewhere in the new series, Jeremy travels to London to attend a major farmers' rally near Whitehall, where he ends up addressing the crowd despite medical advice to take it easy.

Recalling a conversation with his doctor, he laughed: "Doctor went mad at me last night. 'You know we told you to have six weeks rest? It meant sitting by the fire eating minestrone soup.' I haven't been doing that."

Even girlfriend Lisa Hogan is forced to step in at one point. When travellers reportedly take over the car park at his pub, Jeremy attempts to jump in the car and deal with the situation himself.

But Lisa quickly shuts down the plan. Filming him through the open passenger window, she demanded: "Where are you going?"

When Jeremy replied: "I've got to get over there, it's chaos," Lisa fired back: "You're not going to the pub! You are not a diplomat and you have a dickie heart! Out!"

As Jeremy protests, she doubles down: "You're not going Jeremy, come on let's go, park that car back there now."
