Kate Garraway sneaks into live interview after 'taking too long in loo'

Kate had been presenting Good Morning Britain on Thursday when she had to race to the toilet only to return to the show at an awkward moment during an interview

Kate Garraway suffered an embarrassing moment as she tried to secretly return to Good Morning Britain after going to the toilet. However, as she tried to sneak back in, she was caught red-handed.

The presenter, 59, fronted the ITV morning show on Thursday (July 30) together with Adil Ray, running through the biggest stories of the morning. During one commercial break, Kate used the opportunity to quickly nip to the toilet.

But despite her quick attempt to relieve herself, Kate accidentally joined the show at the wrong time as the programme had come back on air. As a result, she desperately tried to creep back onto the show without being rused.

At the time Adil had been speaking to Strictly Come Dancing professionals Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu to chat about their time on the run during the latest series of Celebrity Hunted. Adil opened the item, before it cut to a package, giving Kate enough time to get back onto the sofa.

But midway through the chat, Amy could be heard seemingly falling off her point, before clambering could be heard. When the camera cut back to the sofa, Amy said: "Oh, good morning!" before viewers saw Kate trying to get back onto the sofa.

Clearly trying to contain herself, Kate giggled as she tried to explain: "I'm so sorry. I took a little bit too long in the shower, in the loo," before erupting into laughter.

Adil, unimpressed with his co-host's tardiness, made a cheeky jab at Kate, mocking: "She hasn't heard about the drought and the short showers! It's alright, we're here now."

Talk then quickly returned to Amy and Carlos as they spoke about their time on Celebrity Hunted, which saw the couple go "on the run" for three weeks, trying to avoid determined Hunters. Kate was seen looking on in shock as Amy and Carlos revealed how they survived the ordeal.

Reflecting on their time as 'fugitives', Amy admitted: "It's really hard, and the only break you get from one another is when you go to the bathroom. For us, we kept saying, "this is harder than Strictly," it's so intense!

Carlos went on to say that the show was "100 percent harder than dancing", while Amy admitted they had a gameplan that was quickly unearthed. "You have your film crew with you but unfortunately for us, we did make a plan but Carlos forgot to delete it from his phone so the hunters were onto us."
