Love is Blind UK star Shirley Bekker has revealed that there were actually five more engagements among the cast that didn't make it into the series.

In a recent TikTok video, the 27-year-old junior doctor explained that due to the cutthroat nature of reality TV, her own journey in the 'pods' didn't receive as much screen time. Despite dating all 15 male contestants, Shirley was ultimately left single, resulting in a less dramatic storyline for the series.

Answering fans' queries, Shirley disclosed: "Although you see a total of six engagements, 11 of our cast got engaged. There were only four of us who didn't get engaged and I was one of them. That's a little bit embarrassing."

She went on to explain: "With it only being 11 total episodes, you have to think that only certain stories can get followed all the way to the altar, because there just isn't a way to fit in that many stories into that few episodes."

Shirley also expressed her thoughts on the unaired romantic journeys: "As for the stories that did not end in engagement, it would've been interesting to still see those romantic journeys and to see that some romantic journeys don't end in engagement, some end in heartbreak, some end in break-ups. But that's just not how the show works in this case."

According to Shirley, some of the unseen "madness" included a female contestant proposing and additional love triangles. She concluded: "We had so much going on, but as you can understand we can only show so much."

Disappointed, two fans remarked: "Netflix need to extend their episodes because I would have loved to see everyone's journey. I feel like we missed out on the other couples that were engaged." Another chimed in with: "They need to change the format of the show. We miss out on so many stories".

One eager fan proclaimed, "I was WAITING for your story girl," while another stated: "The engagements/love stories are great to see, but it would have been great to see some of the romances that didn't work out as that is life."

The final two episodes of Love is Blind will release on Netflix on August 21, followed by a reunion special on August 26 at 9pm.
