One of the finalists from this year's Love Island has hit back at suggestions their villa antics represented a major 'red flag'.
The latest series of ITV's dating reality show finally concluded on Monday night (July 27). During the live finale broadcast straight from the villa, presenter Maya Jama announced the final positions of the remaining couples.
This featured Simba Kudyiwa and Angelista Gunda who ultimately finished in third place. They narrowly missed out on the top prize to Lorenzo and Julia, while Jasmine and Kavan secured second spot.
All the finalists looked back on a frantic evening by chatting with last year's final three, Shakira Khan, Toni Laites and Yasmin Pettet. Affectionately known as The Big Three, they have been presenting the newly refreshed companion podcast Love Island The Debrief.
Throughout the series, they have been grilling dumped Islanders and dissecting all the villa drama. While their concluding episode is scheduled to broadcast tonight (July 28) at 10pm on ITV2, it can already be watched on ITVX and YouTube, reports OK!
During the episode, all the finalists gather for a discussion, starting with Simba and Angelista. In the conversation, Simba is questioned about his self-admitted 'wandering eye'.
Simba declared: "With the whole wandering eye thing, that was very much the old me. I feel like I've moved past that. I've reassured Angie that we can move past that Just focus on the future, Focus on the moving forward and try to become the best possible version of myself for Angie."
Simba also faced backlash during his time on the programme for his behaviour throughout Casa Amor. One particular moment saw him admit to Angelista that he wanted to share his bed with either Mica or Mara in order to, as he explained it, get to know them better.
Shakira challenged him about this, asking: "What is this logic Simba? Because we weren't quite getting it."
He maintained that sharing a bed in the villa is different to how it's viewed in the outside world. He said: "When you're in bed with someone, it's not even just the physical stuff, it's more so just the conversations."
While he stopped short of admitting that it was 'pillow talk' he added: "You're having those conversations you wouldn't necessarily have in front of all the other Islanders. For me, personally, it was about finding out more about the girls."
When pressed on this and why he didn't simply invite the girls to the terrace, Simba responded: "I feel like once you go to the terrace, everyone thinks you're going to kiss. There's just a lot of pressure on you there..
"Sharing a bed with someone, a bit of conversation, get to know them a little bit more. Genuinely, that's all it was.
"I can look back and be like, 'I didn't necessarily need to do that'... I'm not even saying that for the sake of it."
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
