This year's Love Island runner-up has addressed allegations that they 'blanked' one of the winners during the live final.
It's now been a week since ITV broadcast the concluding episode of the 13th series straight from the villa, presented by Maya Jama. Julia and Lorenzo emerged triumphant from the public vote with Jasmine and Kavan declared runners-up.
Fans have remained equally captivated by the post-series drama as they were by the programme itself. Numerous Islanders have been making declarations on social media and revealing additional behind-the-scenes insights during interviews, reports OK!
This includes disclosures and particulars of what truly unfolded within the villa. Now, Jasmine and Kavan have featured on the Newly Parents podcast presented by Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo.
During the chat, Jasmine is questioned about friction in the villa and the apparent divide between certain Islanders. Jasmine disclosed: "We, as the girls were so close, it was genuinely a sisterhood. To the point where I think the tension was always boys vs girls. It wasn't even about couple stuff because we were so close."
Nevertheless, she conceded that the atmosphere within the villa did alter following Casa Amor. This comes as little surprise given that several of the lads, including Kavan, returned with fresh faces.
Although Jasmine remarked: "It wasn't necessarily that I think there was a divide, you could just feel that there was more of an allegiance or alliance on different sides for different reasons. And I think Julia is a massive character. She's such a confident, strong woman, says how she feels, very opinionated. Sometimes I would see traces of myself in her and that's iconic of you.
"But I think where we would struggle as a girl group was I think the emotional reading, like intelligence part of it. If someone was feeling something, you kind of just stop. You'd take a breather."
Jasmine continued by saying she reckoned the 'hard part' with Julia was that she would seemingly fail to notice when someone was being wounded during a discussion. She mentioned this would make matters 'sour' but they and Julia would spend considerable time together away from cameras that viewers didn't witness before the finale.
She went on: "There's no beef at all. It's so minor. We've all lived this experience together."
Jamie commended her response but also highlighted the internet's 'wild' reaction after it seemed that Jasmine hadn't embraced Julia the instant she was announced as winner alongside Lorenzo.
Jasmine exclaimed: "I've heard this!" Kavan was baffled and asked: "Who didn't hug?" to which Jasmine responded: "Apparently I didn't hug Julia."
Before she added: "I don't remember doing that. I think Maya grabbed me because she had to ask me something quickly, maybe she grabbed me?"
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
