Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson is finally proud of himself thanks to Soccer Aid.

The 32-year-old has had a career many celebs would kill for. Since finding fame in 2013, he's been on Celebrity Big Brother and Love Island, and hosted award-winning podcast, a radio show and even had a movie role.

But its the gruelling challenge he did for this years Soccer Aid fundraiser that has finally meant something to him.

Brave Sam ran five marathons and cycled 130 miles across five tough days. His efforts impressed people so much hes raised an incredible 2 million for UNICEF.

Sam told the Daily Star Sunday: Doing the challenge was an amazing experience. Ive never achieved anything before. Im not used to that. It was for something I really cared about.

It was for a cause greater than myself. It was lovely to do it. I havent done much I can be proud of before, so its nice to do something I can genuinely feel that about.

The TV star Sam put his career on hold to do the challenge.

Getting through the challenge wasnt easy for Sam. The lad hit rock bottom multiple times because it was so tough both mentally and physically.

He added: I had a day where I was on my bike crying for an hour and a half.

I was thinking about everything in my life. I got off and sat on a bench and zoned out. It was wild.

When youre out there and in your own head and thinking about your life, you do think about things in a way you dont normally.

But it did so much for me. I feel like Ive learned so much more about myself. I know that sounds cringe!. Now its over and hes recovered, hes keen to tackle some new projects.

He said: Soccer Aid has taken up so much time. Nothing really mattered until it was done. But now Im sitting down and working out what the hell to do with the rest of the year.

Sam and his pal Pete Wicks will be doing a live edition of their podcast Staying Relevant on stage at The O2 arena in London later this year.

The idea of sitting in front of thousands of fans is daunting for him.

He said: We are very nervous about The O2. Its going to be a big crowd. But we did the Eventim Apollo and an arena in Birmingham, so we have done big things before.

Im just hoping we can compartmentalise things and not look too far ahead.

Sam is one of the busiest stars in showbiz. His plans to become a top TV presenter have had to take a back seat in recent months.

He said: There are loads of things Id like to do. Its just about whether theres enough time in the day to do all of it.
