Love Island All Stars runner-up Millie Court has revealed how the producers would manipulate the cast to ensure explosive storylines. She claims they attempt to befriend contestants so they can easily convince them to partake in potential drama, and says being on the show ruined reality TV for her.

When she first appeared on Love Island series 7 back in 2021 - Which she won alongside now-ex Liam Reardon - she fell for their nice act.

Millie, 29, recalled: "In holding you have no phone, so the first time I went I think three months without speaking with anyone that I know and that is something I struggled with a lot.

"Because when you're upset and going through something all you want is advice from your mum or my sisters, and when you can't get that you've gotta lean on your producers, and think I fell for them being my friends in there.

However upon entering the South African villa for All Stars she was wiser and managed to stay out of most of the drama, she added: "I realised this time 'you're not my friends you are the producers' and I clocked it a few times.

"And they knew that, they knew that everyone had done it before and this time it was harder for them to be like, 'Right you've just gotta do this for the show, we're trying to create a show'. "

Millie added that being on series 7 ruined reality TV for her because she could see-though it all: "I'm such a fan of the show which actually altered the way I thought of it afterwards.

"I didn't like watching a couple of the series afterwards because I knew how it worked I was like 'I think they've been produced to do that' or 'that storyline has been made out to be that way when it's probably not like that in person'."

However, she added that a few All Stars contestants enjoyed working with the producers for airtime.

Speaking on Great Company with Jamie Laing, Millie said: "There was a few people that would be like that in there, they'd be like, 'Okay so we know we're playing this game tonight' you know we've got a text or whatever, Maya's coming in, and they'd be like, 'Okay don't take anything I say to heart because let's just do this'."

Millie insisted that she and Zac, who's she still dating post-show, didn't get intimate in the villa but they made up for it after the final, although it was all over a little too quickly.

She laughed: "We all have our own little apartments on the night of the final, so, yeah thank God, so it's a great experience once you leave! I think everyone enjoyed leaving...

"It was great, great, great experience... And also it doesn't last very long which is understandable."
