The ITV series failed to secure enough votes to win the gong for Best Daytime Show at Monday's (February 12) bash. It lost out to BBC wildlife series Animal Park, which is hosted by Kate Humble and Ben Fogle.

The result is the latest blow for This Morning after a turbulent year for the show. It was plunged into controversy last May when Philip Schofield resigned after admitting a secret fling with a younger colleague.

Since then his former co-star Holly Willoughby has been forced to quit over security fears. There have also been claims there is a toxic culture behind the scenes and it failed to win at the National Television Awards for the first time in 13 years.

Producers have tried to bring the show back to its best by hiring a raft of new presenters including Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard and Sian Welby. But last nights snub is likely to spark concerns over the shows popularity.

Emmerdale pulled off a double win for Best Soap and Best Soap Actor for Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle and Happy Valley nabbed Best Drama Series as well as Best Actress for Sarah Lancashire, who played Sgt Catherine Cawood. Other shows to win included Mrs Browns Boys, Call The Midwife and Beyond Paradise.

It comes after Holly pent a cosy night with her former This Morning colleague Clodagh McKenna - with the pair enjoying a selection of desserts with pals Imelda May and Shiarra Bell. The 42-year old star stood down from her presenting role in October 2023 and remained away from the public eye until January, when she made her triumphant television comeback on Dancing On Ice with her new co-host Stephen Mulhern.

On Wednesday (February 7), the mum-of-three dined with This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna, who shared an insight into their evening together on Instagram. And showing their relationship remains a strong one despite no longer being colleagues, Holly shared a snap of their night herself.

Clodagh, who has been a part of the This Morning show for several years, posted a shot of a number of tasty looking desserts, which she captioned: "Hot chocolate puddings at home... with my beautiful girls @imedaoffical @hollywilloughby @shishib." Holly simply added: "Dreamy evening... thank you @clodagh_mckenna."
