Former Love Island favourite Olivia Attwood has shared the heartwarming guidance she offered The Heat contestants after confessing she felt like fleeing during her own reality television experience.
Presented by Olivia, The Heat follows 10 aspiring chefs as they venture to Barcelona, where they'll strive to wow acclaimed chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, who's searching for the next emerging talent.
Yet the filming won't cease when the kitchen shuts down, as audiences will witness what these young and driven chefs do in their spare time, with the fresh series guaranteeing loads of drama and mayhem, reports OK!
ITV hints: "These young hopefuls will quickly realise that no-one's place is secure in this fierce culinary contest, as they consistently battle it out in a bid to climb the kitchen ranks.
"Promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series are sure to keep the contenders on their toes - every service is a chance to soar or sink."
Before the brand new series debuts tonight (February 24), Olivia Attwood told the Star that it will "fill the Love Island shaped hole" for audiences.
Offering her guidance to the reality TV hopefuls, she said: "What I would say, to anyone actually going into reality shows, is that you have to just kind of give yourself to the process because you're in it now, so you might as well just jump in both feet.
"Try and enjoy it because you know, at the end of the day, it is a competition, it is high pressure, but also, it's meant to be fun and it's going to be the most amazing summer that's going to go like that and it's going to be a memory that you look back on.
"I look back on the summer of 2017 so fondly, like I have so many good memories from that summer. When I was probably half way through the Love Island stint, I'd probably if someone left a back door open, I would run for it, but now I'm glad I didn't because it's like I had the best time, it goes so quick."
The opening episode is already streaming on ITVX, though fans can also tune in tonight at 9pm on ITV2. Additional episodes this week will broadcast on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Giving viewers a taste of what's in store, Olivia explained: "I think it's the perfect mix between a reality and competition show. As you get the high pressured reality of working in a kitchen under a Michelin star chef and the pressure and they're all competing.
"But then when they finish and they have their time off, we also follow them and you see them in their free time and relationships are forming, people are starting to have romantic feelings for each other and it's so interesting to watch them navigate that from their off kitchen life, back to the kitchen the next day when they start having feelings for each other.
"But you know, Jean-Christophe runs the kitchen to the standard as he would. But it has the kind charm and it has the romance that you want from a reality show so I feel like it kind of fills both voids for a viewer. I think it will tick a lot of boxes."
The Heat starts tonight (February 24) on ITV2 at 9pm, with the first episode also now available to stream on ITVX.
