Olivia Attwood has revealed she draws inspiration from the late Caroline Flack when it comes to her approach to reality television.
The star found fame as a Love Island contestant in 2017, during Caroline's tenure as presenter, before the beloved host took her own life in 2020 at the age of 40.
Olivia has now said she "never will forget" how Caroline cared for the participants and shared that she attempts to emulate her approach on her own Bad Boyfriends programme, reports OK!
"It is scary," Olivia said of participating in reality TV. "And it's quite isolating. I remember that the way Caroline [Flack] was with us, I never will forget that, ever."
"And it's always what I wanted to be like if I was ever lucky enough to get into the position that I am now, is to make people feel how she made me feel," she continued.
The Loose Women presenter reflected on her own villa experience eight years ago, saying: "You don't have your phone, you don't know any of these people, you are putting your trust in a production company, it's a bunch of strangers.
"I remember what I felt like and even though I was this absolute gobsh*** in Love Island, underneath I was a bit nervous.
"I was a bit like, 'Oh my God, I want to ring my best mate but I can't'."
The ITV programme Bad Boyfriends features Olivia working to rehabilitate a collection of wayward partners and remedy their troublesome behaviour.
When questioned about whether she felt protective towards the male participants due to her own reality TV background, she responded: "100 percent."
"Like, I feel like even when they go into the pre little lockdown before they go to the show and the first day they come in, it's like they always want to try and check in with them off camera because I know what they feel like," she expressed.
"I have been a contributor more than once and you know, as much as people like to kind of roll their eyes at reality TV and whatever, it is a very brave thing to do."
