Disappointing news awaits supporters of the fresh cooking contest The Heat, as it appears there are no intentions for the ITV programme to make a comeback.
The series, which launched in February this year, was hosted by Olivia Attwood, who initially gained recognition following her stint on Love Island back in 2017.
Following just one series, comprising 10 episodes, the network has confirmed nothing is currently being developed.
An ITV spokesperson stated: "There are no current plans for a second series of The Heat, but audiences can find the current series on ITVX."
Based in Barcelona, audiences witnessed 10 determined young chefs sharing accommodation while grafting at an upmarket pop-up eatery at Port Vell Marina, overseen by multi-Michelin-starred chef Jean-Christophe Novell, reports OK!.
While Jean-Christophe monitored the advancement of cooks attempting to ascend the gastronomic ladder throughout the programme, one contestant faced elimination at each episode's conclusion.
Though the culinary rivalry formed one element of the programme, filming persisted beyond kitchen hours.
A description for the show stated: "These young hopefuls will quickly realise that no-one's place is secure in this fierce culinary contest, as they consistently battle it out in a bid to climb the kitchen ranks.
"Promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series are sure to keep the contenders on their toes - every service is a chance to soar or sink."
Audiences witnessed post-shift romantic encounters, staff social gatherings and tension brewing as the programme merged both their working and private worlds.
When the show launched, Olivia remarked: "It is such an honour to host this brand-new format for ITV2 and ITVX, being at the helm of something this fresh and exciting is a total pinch-me moment!"
Meanwhile, Jean-Christophe Novelli declared: "I couldn't be more thrilled to join this new exciting show and help spotlight the next generation of culinary talent.
"Known for my drive and intensity in the kitchen, I'll be using my passion and unique teaching style to push these young chefs to dig deep, stay sharp, and prove they have what it takes to grow, evolve, and make their mark.
"I'll mentor them to use all five senses together and put it all on the plate, the right way. It's going to be a wild ride, and I know we'll discover some true culinary stars along the way. I'm ready. Let's do this. Allez, Allez bon apptit!"
Ultimately, ITV audiences watched Jean-Christophe declare Kat as his champion chef while Jayon secured the runner-up position.
The Heat is available to watch on ITVX
