Romesh Ranganathan's eye-watering weekly salary revealed as comic makes West End debut

It's been revealed that Romesh Ranganathan has been raking in 40,000 a week bringing home a massive 2 million last year as their profile grew after TV and West End appearances

Maths teacher turned comedian and TV star Romesh Ranganathan made a huge 2 million last year the equivalent of 40,000 a week.


His profile grew rapidly with plenty of TV show appearances and the success of his podcast The Romesh Ranganathan which has starred celebrities such as James McAvoy, Sheridan Smith, Take That and more. According to The Sun assets in his business Vetty Limited hit 5.4m but after paying taxes he was left with 4.5m. Thats up a huge amount from 2.5m last year.


It's not a huge surprise given that comic has landed roles in huge TV shows including most recently Amazon Prime's Last One Laughing. He stars alongside Alan Carr, Bob Mortimer, Mel Giedroyc and David Mitchell as they attempt to live with one another without giggling for a day.

Romesh is also up for two BAFTAs for his Sky travel series Can't Knock The Hustle based on his 2024 debut arena tour Hustle - And Rob and Romesh Vs.

Rob and Romesh Vs has been airing since 2019 and is massively popular it sees Romesh and Rob Beckett take on challenges such as hip-hop in the streets of New York and Winter Olympics sports.


But Romeshs roster also includes hosting The Weakest Link on BBC One, and the ITV gameshow Parents Evening also starring his mum, plus most recently he made his West End debut with Woman In Mind.

He's previously spoke about his career insisting that he would be happy to just be able to pay the bills - Romesh, who has three sons with wife Leesa, told the Sunday Post: "When I started doing it, I just wanted to pay the bills.

"I thought itd be amazing to pay for the electric with stand-up. Nothing has added to my aggregate happiness more than being able to pay for my Tesco shop with comedy.

"Everything else has been a real bonus.

"I feel very lucky, to be honest with you. I dont like being away from home, but I cant think of the last time Ive dreaded a day at work, and that feels like an amazing gift."
