Sky News suddenly interrupted for truly harrowing breaking news announcement

Sky News presenter Jayne Secker issued a tragic update in the search for missing 19-year-old Michael Henry, after Northumbria Police confirmed a body was recently found

Sky News was interrupted for major breaking news. Presenter Jayne Secker delivered an update on the ongoing search for Michael Henry and revealed: "Just bringing you some breaking news from the police in Northumbria. They have found a body in their search for 19-year-old Michael Henry, from the Rothbury area."


Jayne explained that he "went missing after falling from a kayak off the coast near Boulmer off the north-east coast." She continued: "A body was located off the coast of Blyth on July 26. Formal identification has since taken place; he was from the Rothbury area at the time when he went missing."


"Family say he was a 'much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, team-mate and friend, a keen sportsman who loved the outdoors.' He was preparing to go travelling this summer and then on to university the next academic year. He will be forever in our thoughts, and we will miss him,'" the Sky News presenter revealed.

Michael was one of two men in a kayak near Boulmer when it overturned on the evening of July 7, Northumbria Police confirmed, reports the Express.

The other man managed to reach a nearby buoy, where he was rescued by the coastguard.


Search operations at sea had been undertaken to locate Michael.

In a heartfelt statement, Michael's family expressed: "We would like to thank everyone for all their love, kindness and support now and throughout Michael's life."

"It was that love and kindness that made him the marvellous person he was."


Michael was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, team-mate and friend; a keen sportsman who loved the outdoors.

"Michael was preparing to go travelling this summer and hoping to start university next academic year."

"Michael will be forever in our thoughts, and we will miss him. Our thanks go to the emergency services and everyone who is helping to search for Michael."
