Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have announced their departure from Strictly Come Dancing with a heartfelt statement. The presenting duo turned to Instagram to share a video with followers, revealing their exit at the conclusion of this series. Tess, who has been hosting Strictly since it launched 21 years ago alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth, was later joined by Claudia in 2014.
The BBC is yet to announce potential replacements, though speculation about various candidates has already started circulating.
Bookies Ladbrokes have released odds on who could be set to quickstep into the role and Roman Kemp tops the list after saying dancing on the show "just wasn't for [him]".
He's odds on at 6/4, followed by former contestant Fleur East at 2/1. Rylan Clark is up next at 3/1, after previously hosting spin-off It Takes Two.
Past winner Stacey Dooley and former It Takes Two host Zoe Ball follow at 4/1.
Stacey's not the only winner in the running, with Rose Ayling-Ellis coming in at 5/1.
With odds of 6/1 they have Alison Hammond, Vicky Pattison, Janette Manrara and Emma Willis.
Maura Higgins and Chris Ramsey follow at 8/1.
At 10/1 is Joel Dommett, while Abbey Clancey is at 12/1.
Then, getting to some odd choices they have 33/1 for Darren Gough and 100/1 for Tom Skinner.
And we might see a return of Liz Truss, with Alex Apati of Ladbrokes telling Daily Star: "Tess out, Truss in may look unlikely, but we wouldn't be surprised to see the former PM take to the Strictly dance floor next year."
Odds of her hosting are 250/1, though odds of her competing are much higher at 10/1.
Tess and Claudia were showered in support after sharing a joint statement on Instagram.
"There have been some rumblings and we want you to hear this from us," Claudia began, reports Wales Online.
They then said: "After 21 wonderfully joyful years on Strictly, we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass over the baton - the very sparkly baton."
They continued: "It's been a huge part of our lives since our children were babes in arms and now they're young adults.
"Genuinely, we have cherished every second. We are so lucky to have been a part of this amazing show and we just want to thank the Strictly team because Strictly is the people who make it, so thank you."
They added in the caption: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.
"We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day.
"We will cry when we say the last "keep dancing" but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza."
The pair have been showered in support from Strictly stars past and present, with Dianne Buswell writing: "We love you tess and will miss you so much x."
"You are what strictly is! Thank you for being so amazing and I feel so lucky to have met you! Lots of love," last year's finalist Tasha Ghouri wrote.
Karen Hauer added: "I love you both so much. Powerhouse duo."
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
