Strictly star calls pregnant Dianne Buswell 'super woman' in touching tribute

Vito Coppola wrote a heartfelt message for Dianne Buswell

Vito Coppola has penned a heartfelt message to his Strictly Come Dancing 'sister' Dianne Buswell after she disclosed he was amongst the first to learn of her pregnancy announcement.

The Australian professional dancer is expecting her first baby with partner Joe Sugg, seven years since their initial encounter in the BBC One dance competition's renowned ballroom.

Dianne learnt of her pregnancy whilst touring with Vito in their co-headlined production, Red Hot and Ready, during the summer months.

In a recent YouTube Q&A, the expectant mother revealed she confided in her friend and colleague about her condition before informing her own relatives, as early pregnancy symptoms began disrupting the tour and causing Vito concern for her wellbeing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

She continued by explaining that he was absolutely delighted for her, caring for her throughout the tour and continuing his support when they returned to Strictly for the programme's 2025 series, which concluded on Saturday evening (December 20).

After the latest run of the beloved show wrapped up, Vito shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute to Dianne, posting alongside a photo of their performance during Strictly's Blackpool special featuring musical guest Lewis Capaldi.

"I would like to tell my Gorji @diannebuswell that what you did this year was a true reflection of who you are, an amazing woman who did not hold back once and that in every circumstances has always kept giving the 110%! ! !" the Italian professional dancer wrote in his touching message.

"You are the example of person to follow and that's why we all love you so much, because you are an inspiration and a super woman! You have the power of a lion and the heart of a lamb and that's why you are unique! I am beyond proud and very grateful to have found a friend, a sister and family in you.

"You attended every single rehearsal, every single day and danced with complete commitment from our tour until now, from June to December, excelling every single time not just on the dance floor but in life. You demonstrated that women are the most incredible beings on earth and that there is nothing more powerful than the strength of a mum (technically baby mum)... You performed lifts, rolls, jumps and every style of dance without concealing but proving that you can accomplish anything!!!"

He went on: "You and @joe_sugg are going to be the best parents, and you my gorji the most fantastic super mum!!! It was special and magical every single dance, rehearsal and moment and thank you for sharing and for the trust you gave me. Have a beautiful Xmas and Happy new year."

Vito then concluded the post: "Love and hugs to all your family and I am looking forward to meet your little boy. He is going to have the craziest Italian uncle... zio Vito."

Dianne was swift to respond, commenting on the post: "You are such a good friend our little boy is so excited to have an uncle Vito like you."

She then added: "And thank you for looking after us both whenever we danced. " Vito promised: "I mean every single word!"

Dianne and Joe, who reached the show's finale before losing out to fellow couple Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton in 2018, unveiled their joyous announcement through a social media video featuring the expectant parents positioned behind a wooden easel with paints and brushes as they crafted their revelation.

The footage, accompanied by Elton John's classic hit Tiny Dancer, showed the duo creating their artwork before rotating the canvas to display three stick figures - representing Dianne, Joe, and their baby positioned between them. Their caption read: "Our little baby boy [heart emoji]. We cannot wait to meet you."
