Sunday Brunch's Simon Rimmer warns Marvin Humes 'watch out' as he eyes up ITV move

Sunday Brunch hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy hinted they were keen to take over Saturday night primetime television with a new and improved segment of their show

Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer warned guest Marvin Humes "watch out" as he threatened the future of his show The Hit List.

Simon, 61, and Tim, 56, were back on Channel 4, this time with guests Skindred, Lang Lang, Marvin, Suzi Ruffell and Celyn Jones. They introduced them to the regular segment Elita Snacks though it had gone through a bit of a makeover and given the new name of Eat Or Delete.

In it, viewers send in wacky combinations of food for the show's stars to try, and they rank it on how good it is. This week, a viewer had suggested one of their favourite snacks hot mashed potato wrapped in a cold iceberg lettuce leaf.

It ended up being quite divisive, with some declaring "eat", while others couldn't wait to "delete". But the fun segment seems to have given Simon and Tim some ideas.

They joked that they were planning on taking it to primetime Saturday night TV, and that Marvin who hosts The Hit List with wife Rochelle on the BBC should "watch out". Tim then added that with Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway now having finished on ITV, they would be replacing it.

Simon said: "We've gone upmarket with the new name," as a guest quipped: "Are we taking it to Saturday Night primetime?"

Simon went on: "Yeah, shiny floor. Marv, watch out!

"Hit List is gonna go. It's gonna be Eat Or Delete on a Saturday night from now on."

Tim teased: "They were looking for something to take over from [Saturday Night] Takeaway... This is it! This is exactly it."

Simon added: "And appropriate, being takeaway food."

Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4 at 9.30am each Sunday
