We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 level A and level AA to test how accessible gamblingcommission.gov.uk is.
In May 2023, the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) conducted an audit of a representative sample of pages on gamblingcommission.gov.uk, from which common accessibility issues across the website were identified. DAC then conducted a retest of these representative pages in October 2024.
Throughout the development and maintenance of this website, manual testing by the Gambling Commission Digital team takes place. We test this website using accessibility checking software and different devices including mobiles, tablets and desktop computers.
We also test with people who use assistive technology including screen readers and voice control software as part of our user research and testing process.
The website was audited by the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) in May 2023 and then retested in October 2024. Work to fix content which failed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard has now been completed. We have resolved all issues where possible and detailed anything that we have been unable to resolve as it is outside our control in this accessibility statement. We continually improve accessibility by addressing any issues found in our ongoing, manual testing.
We monitor developments across third-party websites to ensure any improvements to the accessibility of embedded video iFrames are added to our site as soon as they are made available.
