Community plunged into mourning following death of GAA star's wife in Singapore

The mum-of-two tragically passed away last week aged just 48

Tributes have poured in for Julie Moore

A Galway GAA club has expressed its sympathies to a former player following the tragic death of his wife in Singapore.

Pdraig Pearse GAA club paid tribute to Julie Moore, wife of their ex-player Kevin Moore.

Julie - originally from Corcullen, Galway, and Rathedmond, Sligo - tragically died at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore, on July 8, following a brief illness. She was just 48 years old.

The GAA club shared a heartfelt message on social media, extending their condolences to Kevin, reports Galway Beo.

They stated: "All at Padraig Pearses GAA Club wish to offer our sincere sympathy to the Moore family, Ballymacward on the sad passing of Julie Moore."

"To Kevin, her husband, former player and to Noel, who was a big part of St Kerril's football club for many years also, Cathy and extended family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Go raibh s i suaimhneas sora."

Tributes have continued to pour in for the popular mum-of-two, who was heavily involved in the Galway Musical Society and Encore Theatre Company before relocating to the Philippines.

Paying tribute to Julie, Donna Creaven, Secretary of the Galway Musical Society, said: "Our heartfelt sympathies are with Kevin, Elena, Dara, Julies parents, her brothers and sister, and her extended family and friends as they face this unimaginable loss.

"Julie was a remarkable person kind, beautiful inside and out, talented, creative, and a wonderful dancer whose energy and vibrant stage presence lit up every production. She brought warmth, dedication and grace to every show. Calm amidst the chaos of show week, endlessly organised, and always willing to embrace new ideas with a smile and a simple, 'Sure, why not? Lets give it a go.'

"She was generous with her time and talents, and a wonderful friend whose honesty, integrity and support touched so many lives. She made everyone feel welcome, encouraged others, and had a gift for bringing out the best in people.

Donna added: "Her creativity extended beyond the stage. She even designed and made her own beautiful wedding dress, reflecting the talent and care she brought to everything she did.

"It is impossible to comprehend that someone so vibrant and full of life could be taken so young. The world is undoubtedly a poorer place without her, but we are all richer for having known her.

"Julie will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone in our Galway Musical Society and Encore Theatre Company family.

"RIP Julie. Thank you for the friendship, the laughter, the music and the memories. You will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten."

Julie passed away surrounded by loved ones and will be profoundly mourned by her husband Kevin, her children Elena and Dara, her parents Seamus and Dorothy, brothers Peter, Gary and Alan, sister Louise, their spouses and partners, her nieces and nephews, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, extended family, and her numerous friends.

Julie was laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Ballymacward following a service at St Peter and Paul's Church, Ballymacward on Thursday.

Her loved ones have expressed their gratitude to those who have offered their sympathies, as well as to the medical teams at Mount Elizabeth Hospital Novena, Singapore, and St Luke's Medical Center, Manila, Philippines, for the dedicated care provided to Julie throughout her illness.
