The rule will become effective on September 15, 2026. Georgetown previouslysubmitted a comment to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in opposition to this rule. International Student Advisors Do Not Provide Legal Advice

U.S. immigration authorities, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of State (DOS), make determinations regarding individual immigration status and eligibility for benefits.
