Police is appealing for help from the public to find a wanted man from Widnes who has previously been convicted of domestic abuse. Scott McGuffie appeared at Liverpool Crown Court in May 2024 where he was sentenced to jail for three years for harassing a woman and releasing sexual videos of her.

McGuffie is now wanted by Cheshire Police for breaching a protection from harassment order. The 43-year-old lives in Widnes and is also known to have links to Warrington, Halewood and Liverpool. He is described as 5'10 tall, of a medium build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

During his sentencing hearing in 2024 McGuffie admitted disclosing private sexual images of his former partner with intent to cause distress.

Joanne Maxwell, prosecuting, also described how he incessantly called his former partner from withheld numbers, the ECHO reported at the time.

This led to her being granted a non-molestation order, banning him from making contact with her for six months, by the family courts in May 2023.

But, in the early hours of August 26, she awoke to knocking at her front door and saw McGuffie outside.

He fled when she called the police but then returned once officers had left, entering her property via the back gate before leaving for a second time as she once again dialled 999.

The dad then resumed phoning her anonymously "almost every night" and sometimes "dozens of times" in one evening. When she answered on one occasion, McGuffie said: "You're going to get jumped.

"My daughter's going to get stabbed. You're a s*** mum."

Then, on September 19, McGuffie sent a video he had previously recorded of himself and his then girlfriend having sex to her new boyfriend over WhatsApp.

Phone records showed that he went on to call her 61 times in the space of nine days towards the end of the same month.

At the sentencing hearing McGuffie admitted to breaching the non-molestation order.

In 2024, the ECHO reported that McGuffie had a total of 17 previous convictions for 16 offences, including receiving 12 weeks in September 2023 for assaulting an emergency services worker and criminal damage.

Anyone who sees McGuffie is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting 26000420285.

Information can also be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
