Gogglebox star Amy Tapper says she has ambitions to one day have a family after her eight-stone weight loss. Amy, 26, admits she has struggled with dieting since the age of 11.
Just two years later she began starring on Channel 4s Gogglebox with parents, Jonathan and Nikki, and brother Josh. She won over fans of the show with her outgoing personality.
Amy says she has been overweight for as long as I can remember and constantly struggled with her weight throughout her life. She has however dropped five dress sizes to a size 18, a change she admits is life-changing.
In 2024 she began weight-loss injections after they were recommended by her doctor. She also works out three times a week and does Pilates.
Now Amy says she wants to lose another stone, and will then consult a surgeon about whether she could need excess skin removed. Ultimately however, she says she wants to be able to have a family.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: Im four years away from 30 now and things only get harder as you get older. I want to be able to carry a baby one day and not worry about having a dangerous pregnancy.
It will help future-proof myself. I know that as I get older, Im going to thank myself for this.
Amy says she had tried every diet imaginable before attempting weight loss injections. She admits she would lose two or three stones before the weight loss would stall.
She believes her problems stemmed from genetics and her metabolism. However, after trying the weight loss jabs, she lost 4lb in the first week.
It left Amy and her personal trainer just staring at each other. She explains she started on a low-dose of the jabs before gradually increasing as she went along.
The jabs are however not without their downside, with Amy admitting the "sulphur burps are not pleasant. She says she has also noticed a change in her appetite since starting the weight-loss medication.
She admits she can no longer do big portions and no longer has snacks. Amy explained: If I ever do have a snack, its a boiled egg or a yoghurt.
Amy now believes she will be on the injections for life because of her genetics. She however concludes she is glad she can now shop in high street stores, admitting she would hate shopping with friends, and has even now worn jeans for the first time since I was nine.
As she has lost weight, Amy now says her intense training sessions have started to feel easier. She says she does Pilates twice a week and now does a lot of strength training and boxing.
Amy explains she can now do anything after her weight loss. Next month she says she is getting off to Disneyland and wont worry about fitting on the rides, and wont have to ask for a seatbelt extender when flying.
She even went to watch the London Marathon recently, admitting she would have struggled previously with the walking. She added that navigating the packed trains of London wouldnt be doable before.
The star, who has appeared on the likes of Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Coach Trip, described the feeling as very freeing.
