More than just one of the top five world marathon majors, the London Marathon is a celebratory sporting festival that attracts professional athletes, enthusiastic joggers and costume-wearing charity fundraisers from all over the world.

Usually held in April, the 2021 race was held on Sunday October 3 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 event was also in October, and only open to professional athletes.
