A school admin assistant was arrested for a intimate relationship with a 16-year-old pupil which led police to discover over 19,000 text messages between the pair.

A school admin assistant was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a teenage schoolboy, as police discovered an alarming number of text messages between the pair.

Amanda Katz, 55, began an alleged pursuit of the 16-year-old pupil in December 2025, which led to a brief relationship that ended in February, it was claimed. The pair shared multiple sexual encounters in her house, in the backseat of her car and during a trip away together, the teen told investigators.

In a text exchange, Amanda allegedly told the teen: "I cant stop looking at you and certainly keep my hands. To myself. Just telling you this can get me firedI need to leave RoswellPlease delete this entire thread.

Another reportedly read: "I have done a lot of stupid things. A lot. But this is top level."

The alleged relationship came to a halt when the boys mother found the slew of messages on a Valentines weekend trip with Amanda and the alleged victims family, according to an arrest affidavit seen by People.

After the trip, Amanda returned back to school in a manic state as she complained to her colleague that her boyfriends mother had told her she could no longer be in a relationship with the boy, the schools social worker told the police.

It ultimately came out that the male Amanda was discussing was juvenile [alleged victim], the court documents read. She allegedly said she would never get over it as she sought reassurance from various peers and help to find a man".

The police investigation, which began in March reportedly revealed more than 19,000 text and 591 phone calls between the two. Throughout their text chain, the pair discussed their potential future life together and how and why they need to keep their relationship secret, the court document state.

In a text message, Amanda also admitted that her actions were inappropriate and she could be arrested if detected", but, went on to ask the schoolboy to run away with her to Mexico, court documents revealed.

During investigations, it was claimed the boy dumped Amanda after their Valentine's day trip, leading to her reportedly sending him a frantic text saying: I loved you.

She resigned on April 30 after police launched a probe into the allegations, which saw her arrested on June 2. But Amanda was released on June 4, after she posted a $25,000 bond. She has not been formally charged.

That investigation determined that Katz sexually assaulted a 16-year-old student during multiple off-site encounters between 2025 and 2026, a statement from the police department said.
